Function of the position: innovative development of technical plastic components and assemblies

Tasks and authority of the position: development and construction of plastic components from concept up to series production readiness; plastic-suited 3D CAD-construction incl. drafting of components and assemblies according to design-, space – and specification requirements; development of new product ideas as well as optimization of consisting products; introduction of technical approaches in the production development; consideration of internal requirements (e.g. tooling concepts, processes, montage) and construction guidelines in the development of components; creation of product specifications; instruction, coordination and control of outsourced construction extents.

Requirements/expertise: fundamental knowledge of the different manufacturing processes and technologies, lnowledge and experience in the CAD-construction with CATIA V5 or Siemens NX; knowledge and experience in the field of mold filling simulations, preferably with CadMould; knowledge of all common MS-Office applications; very good written and spoken English language skills; German C1-level.

Tasks and authority of the position: development of material recipes for plastic compounds and documentation of the performed trials and results; execution of a targeted modification of compound characteristics by adding functional fillers and additives; presentation of the created plastic compounds and supervision of the release process; optimization of the consisting plastic compounds; preparation and maintenance of contacts with research institutes and universities to acquire new partners and benefits for research projects; contact person for all plants of the Group for questions concerning material during the development of the product, the pre-series and series production; support of the quality department in processing complaints regarding plastic material; close collaboration with the application technology, the sales department and the project management as well as the production; structure-mechanical simulation with Ansys.

Requirements/expertise: knowledge of the development of compound recipes, its production and handling processes; knowledge of methods to determine structure and compound characteristics
Knowledge of relevant testing standards (preferably Automotive); good analytical skills and experiences with compound characteristics and modification of polymers as well as additives and functional fillers
Knowledge in the handling of specific measurement and test devices FE Simulation; MS-Office-skills; Good English skills written and spoken; German C1-Level; ability to work in a team; independent work; willingness to travel.

Professional Experience: engineering degree preferably in the field of chemistry, plastics technology or material sciences; several years of professional experience in a comparable position would be of advantage.
